Tegrity: Adding Audio and Video to Your Classes

Tegrity Lecture Capture

What is Tegrity?

Tegrity is a software system that allows instructors to record audio, video and computer screen activity which is combined into a "Tegrity session" which is available on-demand via the Internet for replay by students. Instructors may pre-record class lectures and/or record live in class.

Why should I use Tegrity?
By providing our students with numerous ways to learn, we are also providing opportunities for them to increase their understanding.  With Tegrity, students can quickly recall key moments or replay entire recordings online, with digital notes, on their iPods, iPads, and on their cell phones. Students quickly find just what they need by scanning thumbnail images or searching across an entire quarter of class recordings using key words.

How can I use Tegrity in my class?
·         Create a Welcome to class/Orientation video
·         Record narrated PowerPoint presentation
·         Record screen capture and procedure based courses
·         Record audio with face-to-face lectures
·         Pre-record lectures or pre-lecture activities with audio and/or video for online or face-to-face classes
·         Allow students to record and upload their video or audio recordings for evaluation
·         Record guest lectures
·         Record student in-class presentations for students to peer review.
·         Import existing video/audio into course
·         Export recordings as podcasts or mobile phone compatible files.
·         Hold live class meetings online
·         Record to allow students to review material multiple times
